Still Kicking Twice a Week…And Heading to WORLDS in Chicago!

Hey friends — quick life + Tang Soo Do update because it’s been a minute since I sat down to write one of these.

We’re still very much in the game. Twice a week, rain or shine (or snow, because Connecticut), Hunter and I are on the mats. Most weeks we also sneak in Friday cho dan bo classes when the schedule allows. It’s not glamorous, but it’s consistent — and that’s what matters right now.

The biggest news? I just signed both Hunter and myself up for the WORLDS tournament in Chicago this year.

Yes — the WORLDS. The big one. The international stage we’ve talked about in hushed tones for years. We’re actually doing it.

I’m equal parts thrilled and mildly terrified. Hunter is mostly thrilled (he’s already planning which gi to wear and which forms he wants to perfect). I’m over here making spreadsheets for travel, hotel, registration deadlines, and “how many extra sparring rounds do we need before July?”

The goal is simple: show up prepared. Not perfect — just prepared. That means more focused drilling, more conditioning at home, more watching footage of past Worlds competitors, and probably a few extra early-morning runs when nobody’s watching. We’ve got months, but they’re going to fly.

On the blog side — yes, I know posts have been sparse. Life has been full: homeschool rhythm, family stuff, work, holiday chaos, and now this tournament prep. But I’m ramping things back up. Expect more regular updates — training recaps, gear thoughts, mindset lessons we’re learning on the way to Chicago, and probably a few “mom panicking about plane tickets” moments.

Thank you for sticking around even when I go quiet. This little corner of the internet is still very much alive, and we’re still very much in the fight.

Tang Soo! 🥋✈️
Chicago, here we come.

P.S. If you’ve ever competed at Worlds or a big international tournament, drop your best prep tip in the comments. Hunter and I are soaking up every piece of advice we can get! 💙

Thanks for reading — more soon. Promise.
